Pacemaker & Device Implantation in Anand
If your heart beats too slowly or irregularly, a pacemaker can restore a normal rhythm. An ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) protects patients at risk of dangerous fast rhythms, and CRT devices help certain heart-failure patients. Dr. Rohan P. Parikh implants all three at his Anand cath-lab centre.
When it is advised: fainting or dizziness from a slow heart rate (bradycardia), certain types of heart block, and specific heart-failure or arrhythmia conditions identified on Holter monitoring or ECG.
What to expect: the device is implanted under local anaesthesia in a short procedure, usually with a one to two day hospital stay. Most patients return to normal life within a week, with simple precautions in the first month.
Device implantation is performed at Akanksha Hospital and Research Institute, Lambhvel Road, Anand. To book a consultation, call +91 70690 53852.
